Nigerian striker, Taiwo Awoniyi was again on target as he scored the only goal in Royal Excel Mouscron 1-0 against Lokeren at Stade Le Canonnier in their Belgian top flight game on Saturday.
The Liverpool loanee who has been reborn since he joined Muscoron onloan in January continued his sparkling form with a bang on Saturday.
It was a very tough clash against the bottom placed Lokeren at the at Stade Le Canonnier as Mouscron dug for the maximum points against a resolute side.
After a goalless 45 minutes of action that saw Awoniyi picked up a yellow card in the early minutes of the game, he eventually broke the deadlock.
Taiwo Awoniyi was fortunate to be at the right place at the right time to fire in a shot from a corner kick that missed everyone. His shot went straight into the net for his 5th league goal in as many as 6 games.
Barely 5 minutes after Tawio Awoniyi goal, Lokeren had the chance to equalize from the spot but Knowledge Musona missed from the 12 yards.
Tawio Awoniyi was hurled off for Frantzdy Pierrot in the 87th minute to the applause from the home fans.
