MATCH DETAILS

Type of Competition: CAF Champions League preliminary round

Fixture: Remo Stars vs Medeama FC

Venue: Remo Stars Sports Complex, Ikenne.

Time: 4pm

Date: Sunday August 26, 2023

FIRST LEG

Medeama FC of Ghana hosted the first leg last Sunday and were 1-0 victors of Remo Stars.

The second leg clash starts with a 0-1 aggregate score.

That was the first ever meeting between Medeama FC and Nigeria’s Remo Stars Sports Club.

THE SECOND LEG

Remo Stars Sports Club will expect a full house for the game on Sunday August 26 in Ikenne.

The task at hand is overturning the 0+1 aggregate score to reach the second qualifying round of the CAF Champions League.

Coach Daniel Ogunmodede will hope his boys get the job done to avoid another preliminary round exit on the continent.

Last season, the Sky Blues bowed out of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round, and will require a two-goal margin win to progress or level the aggregate score to force penalties.

Remo Stars’ unbeaten run came to an end at the hands of Medeama last weekend; they had no losses in 14 prior games, with seven wins and seven draws. Daniel Ogunmodede’s side will hope to bounce back from that loss as they host an in-form Medeama today.

On the other hand, Medeama have enjoyed some fine form lately; they are coming off back-to-back wins, and have no losses in their last six matches. Augustine Evans Adotey’s men will set their sights on their third consecutive victory as they make the trip to the Remo Stars Stadium.

SPORTSRATION SAYS

Remo Stars win 1-0. Penalty shoot-out to determine winner.
