Report: Michael Olise to snub Chelsea for Bayern Munich

Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise has opted to snub interest from Premier League giants Chelsea in favor of a move to Bayern Munich.

This is according to reports from TheAthletic’s David Ornstein. The 22-year-old, who has been a standout performer for Palace, attracting attention from top clubs across Europe, including Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, Newcastle United, and Paris Saint-Germain.

Despite significant interest from these clubs, Olise has set his sights on Bayern Munich, choosing the German giants over remaining in England or returning to his native France.

Bayern Munich are now poised to test Crystal Palace’s resolve with a formal bid for the talented winger, whose contract reportedly includes a release clause.

This marks the second consecutive summer that Olise has turned down Chelsea’s advances. Last year, despite Chelsea having a bid accepted by Crystal Palace, Olise opted to extend his stay with the Eagles.

This season, Chelsea were once again in talks with the French youth international, but news of his preference for Bayern Munich emerged, leading to his decision to pursue a move to Germany.

The decision may have been influenced by Chelsea’s apparent inability to meet the financial demands necessary to secure Olise’s transfer to Stamford Bridge.

Throughout the 2023-24 season, Olise showcased his ability with 10 goals in 19 Premier League appearances, underscoring his potential and attracting interest from Europe’s elite clubs.

Now, Bayern Munich looks set to secure his services as they bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming season.
