Rivers Angels are 2017 Women’s Aiteo Cup Champions.. Wins record 7th title

Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt have been crowned 2017 Women’s Aiteo Cup champions following a 3-0 penalty shootout win over Ibom Angels at the Rwang Pan Stadium, Jos on Wednesday.

The Edwin Okon ladies scored first in the second half after the first half had ended goalless.

Rivers Angels went ahead through a delightful goal from Cynthia Aku before Gloria Ogbonna equalised for the Ibom Angels as regulation time ended 1-1.

Tochukwu Oluehi made herself big for Rivers Angels as she made 3 saves in the shootout to help the Port Harcourt based team to their 7th Cup title thus denying Ibom Angels their first ever Cup win.

The sum of N10 Million was received by Rivers Angels as prize money for the winner while Ibom Angels went home with N5 Million for finishing Runners Up.
