Rivers Hoopers Receive Cash Reward from Sports Commissioner for Unbeaten Run in Nigeria Premier Basketball League

Rivers State Sports Commissioner Chris Green has rewarded the Rivers Hoopers basketball team for their exceptional performance in the Nigeria Premier Basketball League.

The team, known as the KingsMen, concluded the Atlantic Conference in Benin on Saturday with an impressive record of seven consecutive wins.

Coach Odoh Odaudu praised Commissioner Green for motivating the team with a promise of 1 million naira for each victory in the conference. “The players were really driven by this incentive; they don’t take money matters lightly. If you challenge them with a reward, they’re sure to deliver,” he said.

Odaudu also expressed gratitude for the Commissioner’s unwavering support, describing Green as the “pillar” of the team. “We appreciate everything he’s done for us and look forward to receiving the promised rewards.”

The KingsMen returned to Port Harcourt on Sunday to begin preparations for the final eight tournament, scheduled for 13-19 November at a venue yet to be announced.
