Rohr: Simy is different
Super Eagles head coach is pleased with what he saw from new boy ‘Simeon Nwankwo’ in Nigeria’s 1-1 draw against Congo at Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt on Monday.
Rohr revealed that the Crotone forward showed him a profile different from what he had seen from any Super Eagles players.
Although Simy lost 90 percent of his aerial battle despite being 6 feet tall, his movements and general contribution was obvious in the game.
“It was a very good match because we played against a very good team from Congo. They came with a great squad,” Rohr told reporters.
“The game was a good test for the players particularly those who we didn’t know very well. I’m satisfied with the performance of Simy. He is a natural centre forward.
“We did not have the profile I saw in the center-forward but now we have found it.”
Rohr is expected to drop five players before Nigeria travel to England for a date with the Three Lions on June 2, at Wembley.
