Rondo: Bulls would´ve swept Celtics if I wasn´t injured

Rajon Rondo is positive that not only would the Chicago Bulls be playing in the second round of the NBA playoffs, but they would also have swept the Boston Celtics in four games to get there if he had been on the court.

Rondo was sidelined with a broken thumb after game two of the Eastern Conference series, when the Bulls led 2-0.

With the point guard out of the line-up, the Celtics came charging back to win four straight and take the series in six games.

Asked if the Bulls would have completed the sweep in his presence, Rondo told TNT: “Honestly, yeah.

“It was very frustrating, especially the way we were clicking at the time. We had a good chemistry going and I thought we were some making great adjustments in game one and two.”

In the first two games of the series, Rondo averaged 11.5 points, 10 assists, 8.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals.

According to Rondo, the flow of the team was disrupted when he was sidelined and backup Isaiah Canaan came in to play.
