Rosemary, Alaba win gold & silver in 100m women & men’s at the youth olympics games

Nigerian athletes have won a gold and a silver medal at the ongoing Youth Olympics games in Argentina.

Rosemary Chukuma won a gold medal in the women’s 100m having cruised her way into the podium.

She finished with a time of 11.17s to claim the first position while Saint Lucia’s Julien Alfred finished with a time of 11.23 to claim the siver medal and Ecuadorian Gabriella Anahi Suarez finished with a time of 11.29s to claim the bronze medal.

In the men’s 100m category, Alaba Akintola won the silver medal to ensure Nigeria’s men and women do a podium double at the 2018 World Youth Olympics Games.

Alaba Akintola finished second behind South Africa’s David Luke while Japanese Ikeda Seiryo completed the podium with.
