Sunshine Stars marksman, Sadeeq Yusuf was nominated for the inaugural League Bloggers Association Player of the Month award alongside Akwa United’s Ndifreke Effiong, Jigawa Golden Stars’ Samuel Stone and Plateau United shotstopper, Chinedu Anozie.
Sadeeq Yusuf scored 5 goals in 6 matches for the Akure Gunners and was named as the club’s Player of the Month of January. Akwa United captain Ndifreke Effiong scored 4 goals for his team in 6 matches in January. Jigawa Golden Stars forward on loan from Kano Pillars, Samuel Stone found the net thrice in 5 matches for his team. Chinedu Anozie kept 5 clean sheets in 6 games for Plateau United, overseeing a revival that saw them break into the top half of the table.
Among the coaches, Enyimba boss, Fatai Osho was named among the nominees after his team won four and lost two of their six matches in January. Nasarawa United coach, Bala Nikyu was also nominated after his side won three times, drew twice and lost once in six games. Gbenga “The Oracle” Ogunbote, coach of Sunshine Stars was nominated after his side picked up the most points in January, winning 4 times, drawing once and losing once in six matches. Rivers United coach, Stanley Eguma was nominated after his team picked up 12 points in January as they won 4 and lost 2 of their 6 matches in January.
The winners of the award will be announced on Saturday 13th of February 2021 on the Supersport Made in Naija football show.
