Sadiq Umar Confirms Valencia Exit After Short Loan Spell

Super Eagles of Nigeria striker Sadiq Umar has confirmed he will not be staying at Valencia after his loan spell ended, SportsRation reports.

The 28-year-old joined Valencia in January from Real Sociedad in search of more playing time, having made only seven league appearances for the La Liga side earlier in the season.

Sadiq made a positive impact at Valencia, scoring five goals in 16 games and helping the team climb away from the relegation zone to finish just two points outside the top ten.

Despite his strong performances, Valencia have decided not to activate the €10 million buy option in his loan deal. Sadiq confirmed his departure via Instagram, thanking the club and supporters and saying he had achieved his goals during the short spell.

“Thank you Valencia. I came here with a target, and I believe I achieved that. All the best in the future,” he wrote.

Valencia’s sporting director, Miguel Ángel Corona, had earlier praised Sadiq’s contribution, saying he brought much more than goals to the team.

“We’re very happy with Sadiq. His goals helped us, but beyond that, his work rate and attitude lifted the team. He fit in well and helped raise the level of the squad,” Corona said.

Sadiq now returns to Real Sociedad, but it is still unclear whether he will remain at the club for the new season. His future could depend on the plans of the coaching staff and potential interest from other clubs.
