Sadiq’s 12th league goal not enough as Omeruo late goal earns Leganes the win vs Almeria

Sadiq Umar 12th league goal of the season was not enough to save Almeria from a 2-1 loss to Kenneth Omeruo Leganes.

It was an intense game between La Liga chasing sides Almeria and Leganes at the Estadio Butarque on Wednesday.

This became more interesting as two Nigerian players went head-to-head in the Spanish division two game.

It was Sadiq Umar who shone brightly at the start of the game as his 8th minute strike gave the visiting Almeria the lead.

But the host pegged Almeria back in the second half through Borja Baston 48th minute strike.

It looked like it was heading for a 1-1 draw but Kenneth Omeruo scored a last gap goal to earn Leganes a 2-1 win against Almeria.

Sadiq Umar goal was his 12th of the season as he continues to powered third placed Almeria into an automatic qualification into Spanish La Liga.

While Kenneth Omeruo goal was his first league goal of the season.
