Nigerian winger Samuel Chuwkuweze provided two assists as Villarreal defeated Almeria 0-2 in La Liga on Saturday evening.

Chukwueze came into the game at the Power Horse Stadium high in confidence after his goal in the victory over Getafe on Monday.

A cagey encounter in La Liga looked headed for a stalemate before Chukwueze set-up Gerard Moreno for the opening goal in the 76th minute.

To put the scores beyond doubt, Chukwueze provided assist for Jose Morales to double Villareal’s advantage in the 88th minute.

The Yellow Submarines thus earned a second straight win to push further up the table in La Liga and revive their hopes of a Continental ticket at the end of the season.

Chukwueze now has 10 goals and 10 assists to his name in all competitions this season, the Nigerian flourishing under Quique Setién this season.

Chukwueze and his Villareal teammates will turn their attention to the UEFA Europa Conference League game against Anderlecht on Thursday at the Lotto Park in Brussels.
