Samuel Chukwueze ends 11-month La Liga goal drought

Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze has finally ended his 11-month La Liga goal drought after scoring the opening goal in Villarreal’s 2-0 win against Real Valladolid on Monday.

Samuel Chukwueze wrong footed the goalie with one touch finish after finding space in the box for his first ever goal in La Liga since he scored in November 2019 when Celta Vigo beat Villarreal 3-1 at the Estadio de la Ceramica.

The goal would surely boost the morale of the Nigerian who has improved significantly in manner aspect of his game but for decisions in the final third.

Pau Torres scored Villarreal’s second goal to complete the 2-0 win for the maximum points and a win which puts the Yellow Submarines in the 3rd position on La Liga table.

Villarreal now has 15 points just 2 points behind league leaders Real Sociedad and 7 points ahead of Barcelona who have 8 points.
