Samuel Chukwueze happy to play for Flying Eagles at U-20 World Cup in Poland
La Liga and Europe top prospect Samuel Chukwueze has opened the door for his participation at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland.
The Villarreal attacker who has been enjoying the spotlight because of his scintillating display for the Yellow Submarines is ready to play for Nigeria’s Flying Eagles.
Chukwueze is already capped with the Super Eagles, and was one of the invited foreign-based players who helped the Olympics Eagles move into the last AFCON U-23 qualifying stages.
Despite his involvement in cadets higher that the U-20 he is willing to play in Poland for the Flying Eagles.
“For now there is no date on my arrival to the team’s camp because you know the season is still ongoing and the club won’t release me,” said Chukwueze as quoted by AOIFootball.
“I’m always happy to play for the country at any level whenever I’m called upon and hopefully when the season ends in May I can have a clearer picture of how things will unfold but for now I can’t give an actual date of my arrival,” Chukwueze stated.
It was revealed in the news that Villarreal hope to block the youngsters’ participation at the tournament as they fear he could suffer burn out ahead of the new season.
