Samuel Eto’o in more trouble as group demands his resignation as FECAFOOT President

Samuel Eto’o, the embattled President of the Federation of Cameroon Football (FECAFOOT), is facing fresh allegations that could potentially jeopardize his position.

The former Barcelona star is under investigation by the African football governing body, facing a three-count charge. While the specifics of the charges remain undisclosed, Eto’o has responded by instructing his lawyers to file a case against the football body.

In a recent development, the Amateur Football Clubs Association (AFCA) in Cameroon has claimed to have obtained evidence of Eto’o’s dual citizenship. According to AFCA, Eto’o acquired Spanish citizenship over fifteen years ago during his playing career in Spain.

This revelation has significant implications, as dual nationality disqualifies him from holding the presidency of FECAFOOT under Cameroonian law.

More than fifty presidents of AFCA have called on the Ethics Committee of the Cameroonian FA to demand Eto’o’s immediate resignation. The situation remains tense as the investigation progresses and the football community awaits the official outcome.
