San Pedro FC Arrive Uyo Ahead Of Rivers United CAF Champions League Clash
Ivorian side San Pedro FC have arrived in Uyo ahead of their CAF Champions League first preliminary-round second-leg match against Rivers United.
According to a notice signed by AKSFA Liason Officer, Nsikakabasi Akpan, the team arrived at the Victor Attah International Airport at about 4:21 p.m. on Friday and were received by officials of Rivers United FC and the Akwa Ibom State Football Association.
San Pedro FC have since settled into their hotel in Uyo as they prepare for the important return leg, scheduled for Sunday, September 13, 2026, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
The Ivorian side will hold their mandatory pre-match training at the match venue at 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 12. The first 15 minutes of the session will be open to fans and journalists.
Rivers United go into the second leg with a slight advantage after earning a valuable 1-1 draw against San Pedro FC in the first leg.
The Nigerian champions will now look to make home advantage count and secure qualification for the next round of the CAF Champions League.
San Pedro FC, however, will be hoping to produce a strong performance in Uyo and overturn the situation to keep their continental campaign alive.
