Scholes, Deco come out retirement to play in Indian futsal league

Former Manchester United and England midfielder Paul Scholes has signed a three-year deal to play in India’s new futsal league.

The 41-year-old retired from professional football in 2013 after making more than 700 appearances for the Red Devils and winning 11 Premier League titles and two Champions League trophies.

Scholes’s decision to come out of retirement was announced by the Premier Futsal league’s social media channels on Thursday morning.

Former Chelsea and Barcelona midfielder Deco is also lined up to play in the league, which runs from July 15 to July 26 and whose president is Portugal legend Luis Figo.
