‘Selfish’ – Carragher reacts to Mo Salah’s recent comments about Liverpool contract

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has criticised Mohamed Salah after the Egyptian forward made comments about his contract situation at the club. Carragher believes Salah’s actions are “selfish.”

Salah, whose contract runs out next summer, has not yet been offered a renewal by Liverpool. To put pressure on the club, he has recently spoken publicly about his future, something he usually avoids. After scoring twice to help Liverpool beat Southampton, Salah told reporters he was closer to leaving the club than staying, as no renewal offer had been made.

Carragher spoke about the situation on *Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football*, saying, “There’s obviously a big difference in how Salah and his agent value themselves and how Liverpool value him.” He explained that Liverpool might not have offered him a contract yet because Salah would likely turn it down. Carragher also added, “I am very disappointed with Mo Salah. The most important thing for Liverpool right now is winning the Premier League, not the future of Salah or any other player.”

Carragher felt it was wrong for Salah to bring up his contract while the team had important games ahead, like matches against Real Madrid and Manchester City. He said that it was selfish of Salah to focus on himself rather than the club’s goals.
