Shanghai Shenhua want Odion Ighalo back for the new Chinese Super League season

Odion Ighalo is expected back at his Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua in time for the start of new Chinese Super League season.

The Nigerian is currently on loan at Manchester United has had a good time at the English giants scoring goals for fun.

According to Sky Sports, Odion Ighalo whose loan move expires on June 30th is expected back in China where he has an offer of £400,000 a week on his table to remain at the Chinese giants.

Ighalo’s current contract expires in December 2022, but Shanghai want to keep him until at least December 2024.

Manchester United, however, have the chance of turning his loan move to a permanent move if they pay at least £20m, the Chinese club’s valuation of their most-prized asset.

Manchester United are reportedly keen to extend Ighalo’s loan to cover the end of the Premier League season, the date of which remains unclear amid the coronavirus pandemic but yet to make a move.

Newcastle is also reportedly interested in the Nigerian but only if the take over is completed.

The new Chinese Super League season is slated for July this year.

Should Odion Ighalo return to China where he would earn £400,000 a week or remain at his dream club where he currently earn £180k-a-week.
