Shooting Stars and Rivers United Claim Slim Wins in Rescheduled NPFL Matches

Shooting Stars and Rivers United both recorded narrow victories on Wednesday in their rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) fixtures.
In Ibadan, Shooting Stars won 1–0 against Remo Stars in a tense South-West derby at the Lekan Salami Stadium. Ismail Ayodele scored the only goal of the match 34 minutes in, breaking the deadlock in what was a tight and fiercely contested game.
Remo Stars pushed for an equaliser, but Shooting Stars held firm to secure another important home victory as they continue their climb up the league table.
In Port Harcourt, Rivers United also sealed a late 1–0 win over Kano Pillars at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium. Despite playing with ten men after Isaac Annor was sent off, Rivers United kept pressing and were rewarded in the 89th minute when Boluwaji Sholumade headed in the winning goal.
The result gives Rivers United a vital boost as they chase the top spots, while Kano Pillars will be disappointed after failing to take advantage of their numerical advantage.
Both matches were full of intensity, energy, and high stakes, reflecting the fierce competition as the NPFL season enters a crucial stage. Shooting Stars strengthened their home form, while Rivers United showed determination and resilience to earn all three points.
Fans across Ibadan and Port Harcourt were treated to a thrilling evening of football, with points, pride, and momentum all on the line
