Simon Moses missing as Levante humiliate Real Betis in season opener
Nigerian attacker Simon Moses was missing in action as his La Liga side Levante trashed their host Real Betis 3-0 at the Estadio Benito Villmarin in one of the two La Liga opening games on Friday.
The 23-year-old who recently joined Paco Lopez tutored side was not in the starting line up nor on the bench as his side secured a confortable 3-0 victory to continue where they left it off last season.
An easy tap in from Marti Roger in the 38th minutes following a good square play from Jason put the visitors in front.
Marti Roger’s strike was the difference at half time but the hosts who had the backing of their fans retained the ball for the most part of the proceeding in first half.
Real Betis continied to retain possession and exchange passes between themselves but with no serious threat against their opponents.
Against run-of play, Levante scored their second goal through Jose Luis Morales. Morales took the ball forward before showing great skill to dribble past his opponents and scoring a with ease.
Jason was again involved in the build up to Levante’s second goal.
It wasn’t over for the visitors, as they got their third goal in the stoppage time through the same man who scored their second goal.
Jose Luis Morales was available to put away Raphael Dwamena cross in the 95th minutes to complete his brace and his side’s comfortable 3-0 win.
Paco Lopez side are now comfortably sitting at the top of La Liga table with three points and +three goal difference.
Since Paco Lopez took charge of Levante they have won nine games, lost 2 and drew just one game.
