Crotone striker, Simy Nwankwo scored his 16th Serie A goal for his relegation-bound side as they fell to a 3-2 defeat away at Spezia in the Serie A on Saturday.
The 28 year old late bloomer scored in the 78th minute to put his side ahead 2-1 before two goals in the dying stages of the game from Spezia saw them turn the game on its head and run away with all three points from the game. He has scored in 6 consecutive Serie A games for Crotone who are the worst side in the division as they sit in 20th place on the log. The lanky striker has scored 9 goals in those 6 games, putting him only behind Cristiano Ronaldo, Romelu Lukaku and Luis Muriel on the Serie A scorers’ chart.
With Crotone looking destined to face the drop, it is becoming increasingly likely that Nwankwo will not follow them to the Serie B as the Nigerian international has shown his worth in the Serie A this season.
