Simy Nwankwo becomes top scorer in Europe once again

Super Eagles striker Simeone ‘Simy’ Nwankwo has finished as top scorer in an European league once again.

The 6’6″ tall Nigerian striker put his name in an exclusive list with his heroics with Crotone in the 2019/20 Italian Serie B season.

Simy who scored 35% of his side goals helped the Italian club to gain promotion into Serie A from Serie B.

His 20 goals and four assists were enough to earn him the top scorer award becoming the only African player to be top scorer in an Italian league.

This is also the second time that Simy Nwankwo will be winning the top scorer award in an European league after claiming the award in Portugal.

In 2015/16, Simy Nwankwo scored 20 goals to become the top scorer in the Portuguese division two league while playing for Gil Vincente.
