Sinner beats Alcaraz to win 2025 Nitto ATP Finals
Italy’s Jannik Sinner defeated Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz 7-6(4), 7-5 to claim the 2025 Nitto ATP Finals title in Turin on Sunday (16 November).
Sinner has now won back-to-back ATP Finals titles and has appeared in three consecutive championship matches, continuing his strong performance at the season-ending event.
This final marked the third ATP final between Sinner and Alcaraz in 2025, following their meetings at Roland Garros and Wimbledon, making it their sixth encounter overall this year. The two players have dominated the tour, splitting the four Grand Slam titles: Sinner won the Australian Open and Wimbledon, while Alcaraz claimed the French Open and US Open.
After winning all three of his group-stage matches in Turin, Alcaraz had already secured the year-end World No. 1 ranking, leaving Sinner a few hundred points short. Despite the Turin victory, Sinner remains ATP No. 2, showing how close the two have been this season.
“It was a very tough match against Carlos,” Sinner said after the final. “He is one of the best returners in the game. I’m very happy to finish the season with this win.”
Alcaraz now prepares for the Davis Cup Final 8 in Bologna, beginning 18 November, while Sinner will have a short break before starting preparations for the 2026 season.
