Sir Monty Fc players attracting NPFL attention
Less than a year after it’s formation , Sir Monty Fc players are attracting transfer enquiry from NPFL clubs following impressive performances in the Nationwide League and cup competitions .
As of Saturday August 20, two NPFL clubs, Akwa United Fc and Abia Warriors Fc have registered their interest for Midfielder Bassey Bassey , Versatile Edoho Mfon and Winger Unwana Joseph .
Midfielder Bassey Bassey was exceptional in the State FA Cup Semi Final game Vs Akwa United Fc , pulling the strings with excellent passes and marauding moves that left Coach Ayodeji Ayeni impressed.
The Promise Keepers Head Coach registered his interest in bringing the youngster to the club and talks have continued with days to the teams resumption for the 2022/2023 season.
Incidentally, Abia Warriors Fc spotted the duo of Edoho Mfon and Unwana Joseph in the same State FA Cup game vs Akwa United Fc in Uyo .
The Umuahia based side were in Uyo on June 8, for an NPFL game but stopped by to watch the game at the Practice pitch of the Nest of Champions before proceeding to the main bowl for their 4pm kickoff vs Dakkada Fc .
Sir Monty Fc lost 1-0 to Akwa United Fc in the game , but the excellent performances by the young Sir Monty Fc lads ensured it was a hard fought victory for the Promise Keepers .
Dakkada FC and three Nigerian National League clubs are also mentioned with interest for players in the team which finished 3rd in the Nationwide League One in it’s debut season .
