Nigerian striker Cyriel Dessers says some reactions even to his performance at Scottish club Glasgow Rangers make him laugh.
Dessers joined Rangers from Italian club Cremonessein the smooth and has not had a smooth start, one that has attracted criticism from sections of the club supporters.
In response, the striker who famously won the UEFA Conference League top-scorer award in the 2021/2022 season while representing Feyenord thinks many people are trying to underestimate adapying to a new country.
” Some reactions even make me laugh. First of all, I think many people underestimate what it is like to move to another country,*Dessers told the Daily Record.
“My stats this season are not bad, but I don’t think it is great either. Before the season, I set a goal of 25 goal contributions, so I’m on target in that regard.”
“I have not yet reached my absolute top form, and that’s something I work hard for every day. In terms of general level, the Belgian and Dutch competitions are also better than the Scottish and of course Serie A is a different level, but there are hardly any easy matches here,” he added.
