Sporting Charleroi 2-2 Waasland: Victor Osimhen ends 328 minutes goal drought

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has ended his goalless streak after his goal completed his side’s comeback 2-2 draw against Waasland at Stade du Pays de Charleroi in a Belgian top league game on Saturday.

The striker, on-loan from Wolfsburg had endured a barren spell of 328 minutes of action without finding the back of the net before his glancing header this afternoon drew his side level against Waasland.

The visitors took the lead as early as the 15th minute of the game through Nana Opoku Ampomah. Floriano Vanzo increased Waasland tally to two in the 21st minute of the game.

Massimo Bruno pulled one back for Sporting Charleroi just three minutes after the hosts conceived their second goal. A total of three goals were scored in the space of 24 minutes, at half time the scoreline was 2-1 and the hosts were the better side.

The hosts continued to pile pressure on their visitors and they were rewarded in the 69th minutes when Victor Osimhen scored with a glancing header to draw his side level.

Sporting Charleroi who were without a win in the new year, sent men out in search for the winner but the goal never came, instead were reduced to ten men when Dorian Dessoleil was sent off for his second bookable offense in the 76th minute of the game.

It ended in a draw, Sporting Charleroi continue to search for their first league win in 2019 but Victor Osimhen ended his goalless run to regain his confidence.
