Squash: 1st Chief Olusegun Obasanjo Squash Open Set For Abeokuta

The 1st Chief Olusegun Obasanjo National Squash Open Championship for Senior and U19 Players will get underway next Monday, 13th August 2018 at the OOPL Squash Court in Abeokuta Ogun State.

The tournament with a record of over 120bplayers who are set to participate is organised by the Nigeria Squash Federation and has a prize money of 1.8 million naira.
 
Speaking to sportsration.com, one of the organisers Yinka Durosinlorun said the tournament is one of the initiative of the squash federation at improving squash in the country. 

“The Open Championship is one of the ways at making sure our players keep fit and always in competition mood. Over 120 players registered and we are good to go” Yinka said. 

“The prize money is 1.8m naira, and the squash court of OOPL is ready for this huge championship” Yinka concluded. 

Nigeria’s no1 squash player Sodiq Taiwo is seeded no1 for this Open Championship which will run from August 13-18 2018 in Ogun State.
