Squash: Abel Shedrack Rues Injury For Missing Out On The 2nd Chief Olusegun Obasanjo National Squash Open

Last year semifinalist at the maiden edition of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo National Squash Open, Abel Shedrack has rued his absence from this year’s edition after a muscle tear injury has seen him miss out on action for three months.

In an interview with sportsration.com, Abel said he is disappointed to miss out while wishing the rest of the players the best of luck.

“It’s a painful thing for me to be missing out on this tournament”

“Before this particular tournament there have been series of tournaments that came up which I have trained and prepared for but to my greatest surprise I got a muscle tear while playing in the first tournament held this year and ever since I have been on a 3 month injury layoff.

“This same situation occurred last year which I had to play with an open wonunded Injury which I eventually scaled through to the semi finals but I dare not try playing with this injury I sustained because this is way more severe”

Despite being ruled out, Abel said: “I believe everything happens for a reason. It’s a good thing I will be coming over to my home to watch some of my fellow professional play. I wish everyone coming save trip and an injury free match”.

Abel, who is one of the fast rising squash player hope to return soon to playing squash.

The 2nd Chief Olusegun Obasanjo National Squash will be played in the U19 and Senior Category levels.
