Squash OOSA2018: It’s time to beat Onaopemipo says DesmondĀ
Desmond Iguodola of Headwaters Academy has reaffirmed his desire to defeat Adegoke Onaopemipo of Lagos state in the U19 Boys category of the 1st Chief Olusegun Obasanjo National Squash Open Championship in Abeokuta.
The No2 seeded player was too good for Abdulrahman Nasiru who he defeated 13-11,11-5,11-4 to progress into the final.
“I had to keep it cool and be firm, Nasiru is like a Junior player to me, who just move from U16 to U19, so it was really tight for me as he came up with a lot of courage and confidence. My coach wasn’t around so I had to keep my focus”, said Desmond
On his hopes for the final against Adegoke Onaopemipo, he said: “Getting to the final is an honour, I am looking forward to getting the trophy and most especially beating Onas, the last time we met, I had to scratch 2-0 as I injured my back in the last game”.
It’s fun to be here, I want to thank the organisers, it’s a pleasure to be here”Desmond concluded on the championship.
The final comes up on Saturday at the OOPL Squash Court
