Squash: Sodiq Taiwo Reach Semifinal Of 2nd Chief Olusegun Obasanjo National Squash Open

Nigeria’s top seed Sodiq Taiwo has reached the semifinal of the 2nd Chief Olusegun Obasanjo National Squash Open taking place at the OOPL Squash Court in Abeokuta.

Sodiq defeated his familiar foe Femi Shedera 3-1 in the last eight to progress and has since expressed his excitement at progressing in an interview with sportsration.com

“I had to try my best till the end of the game because games like this you can’t say because you’re ahead of this player, you’ll win or thrash him”, Sodiq said.

“I knew he was going to change his game after I won the first game, so I just had to keep my game going”.

“I thank God I’m in the semifinal, I have to be at best to win this tournament and I believe I’ll win”, he concluded.

The semifinal of the squash open which is in its second edition will be played on Sunday.
