Stanley Nwabali now valued at N1.9b

Chippa United have reportedly increased its valuation of  Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali following his outstanding performances at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Nwabali who is representing Nigeria for the first time at an international tournament has garnered attention as one of the standout players of the tournament, showcasing his goalkeeping skills and contributing significantly to the team’s success.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper, who plies his trade for Chippa United in the South African league, has notably enhanced his reputation through impressive displays in Cote d’Ivoire.

According to multiple reports, Chippa United has set a substantial asking price of €2 million (approximately ₦1.9 billion) for Nwabali, in anticipation of interest from European clubs between now and the end of the season.

Nwabali’s stellar performances at AFCON 2023 include keeping three clean sheets in four appearances. His commanding presence in the goal was particularly evident in the match against the hosts, Cote d’Ivoire.

Aged 27, Nwabali is entering his prime, and should Nigeria’s Super Eagles progress further in the tournament, his stock is likely to rise even higher.

The increased asking price reflects the club’s recognition of the goalkeeper’s value and potential in the transfer market with Belgian club, Royale Union Saint-Gilloloise actively monitoring Nwabali in Cote d’Ivoire.
