Stanley Nwabali returns to Chippa United training after personal tragedy

Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has returned to training with his South African club, Chippa United, after a difficult start to the year – 2025.

The 28-year-old endured a heartbreaking two months, losing both of his parents and becoming an orphan.

While representing Nigeria in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers last November, Nwabali tragically lost his father. Just weeks later, in early January, he announced the passing of his mother on social media.

Nwabali Focuses on Football

Now back with Chippa United, Nwabali is determined to get back to work. Sharing a message on Instagram with the caption “Back to Business,” he posted an old photo of himself playing for the club and a video of his journey back to South Africa.

Nwabali plans to resume training soon as he prepares for the South African Premier League’s restart.

Chippa United’s Upcoming Match

Chippa United are set to face Marumo Gallants on January 18 at Sisa Dukashe Stadium. Nwabali’s return is expected to strengthen the team as they continue their campaign.

Despite his personal challenges, the goalkeeper remains focused on his career and is ready to make a strong impact for his club.
