Stanley Nwabali trolls Libyan goalkeeper after Nigeria’s late victory

Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali poked fun at Libyan shot-stopper Murad Al Wuheeshi after Nigeria’s dramatic last-minute 1-0 win in Uyo.

Al Wuheeshi had spent much of the match using time-wasting tactics, but his efforts backfired when Nigeria secured a late winner, leaving Libya heartbroken.

Despite being ranked 82 places below Nigeria in the FIFA rankings, Libya managed to frustrate the Super Eagles for most of the game at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium. The visitors adopted a defensive approach, relying on delays to disrupt Nigeria’s rhythm, with Al Wuheeshi repeatedly calling for medical attention to slow the game.

Libya’s tactics appeared to be working, as they held Nigeria scoreless for 86 minutes. However, substitute Fisayo Dele-Bashiru broke the deadlock with a crucial late goal, sealing a hard-fought 1-0 victory for the Super Eagles.

After the final whistle, Nwabali took to social media to troll his Libyan counterpart. Posting on X (formerly Twitter), he cheekily wrote, “Who come wise pass?”—a playful jab at Al Wuheeshi’s failed time-wasting antics.

Nwabali’s post quickly gained attention, with fans celebrating the win and his witty response.

The victory puts Nigeria at the top of Group D with seven points, while Libya remains at the bottom with just one point from three matches.

The two teams will meet again in Benghazi on Tuesday, where the Super Eagles will aim to secure another win and confirm their spot at AFCON 2025 in Morocco.
