Steph Curry believes his chances of playing game three are ´pretty good´

Stephen Curry’s chances of returning for game three of the Golden State Warriors’ Western Conference semi-final series are “pretty good”, according to the reigning NBA MVP.

Sidelined by a sprained right knee, Curry sat out Sunday’s opening 118-106 play-off win over the Portland Trail Blazers in Oakland.

But Curry, who only resumed basketball activities on Saturday, is hopeful of returning sooner rather than later.

Game three is scheduled for Saturday in Portland.

“To me they’re pretty good so I’ll do anything I can this week to make that happen,” Curry said in a sideline interview with ESPN at Oracle Arena.

Earlier on Sunday, Warriors coach Steve Kerr said there is a slim chance Curry could play in game two on Tuesday.

“He’s progressing well. We need to get him on the court,” Kerr said.

“Before he’s going to play in a game, he has to be on the floor in five-on-five situations, which means it’s pretty slim he’ll be out there for game two.”

Curry sprained the medial collateral ligament in his right knee against the Houston Rockets on April 24. An MRI revealed surgery was not necessary, and a two-week timeframe was set for his return.

“Maybe Thursday or Friday there’s a chance we could get him on the floor in a scrimmage situation,” Kerr added. “But it’s all speculation.”
