Stephen Curry Moves Ahead of LeBron James on NBA’s All-Time 40-Point List for Players Aged 35 and Older

Stephen Curry has moved ahead of LeBron James on the NBA’s list of players with the most 40-point performances after turning 35, further strengthening his reputation as one of the greatest scorers in basketball history.

According to the statistics shown in the graphic, Curry leads the list with 16 40-point games, one more than LeBron James, who has recorded 15. The achievement highlights Curry’s remarkable ability to remain an elite offensive force well into his late 30s.

The record came during Golden State’s 126-119 overtime victory over the Orlando Magic on Saturday night. Curry delivered another outstanding performance, finishing with 41 points, six rebounds and six assists in 36 minutes.

The 38-year-old was particularly efficient, shooting 13-of-19 from the field, including five three-pointers, while converting all 10 of his free-throw attempts. He had 36 points at the end of regulation before reaching 41 in overtime.

Curry’s performance also helped the Warriors extend their winning streak to seven games, continuing their impressive turnaround after a difficult start to the season.

LeBron James had previously held the record with 15 games of 40 points or more after turning 35. Curry’s latest performance takes him to 16, giving him sole possession of the top spot.

The leaderboard also features some of basketball’s greatest scorers. Michael Jordan sits third with 12 such performances, followed by Kevin Durant with nine, James Harden with six and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar with four.

At 38, Curry continues to prove that age has done little to slow down his scoring ability. His latest achievement is another reminder of his remarkable longevity and the extraordinary standard he continues to maintain in the NBA.
