Stephen Odey joins Genk from Zurich for a fee of €3.5m

Belgian champions Genk has signed Nigerian striker Stephen Odey from FC Zurich.

According to Votebalkrant.com, the Belgian Pro First League outfit have announced the capture of former MFM FC player Odey in a deal that runs through for four years with a fee of €3.5million euros.

According to Votebalkrant.com, the Belgian Pro First League outfit have announced the capture of former MFM FC player Odey in a deal that runs through for four years with a fee of €3.5million euros.

Odey who had agreed personal terms with Genk earlier this, under went a medical on Thursday before putting pen to papers.

In his first words as a player of Genk, Odey said: “I am happy to be part of a big club like KRC Genk, and I cannot wait to make my debut for the team and I will give everything to make this great club win laurels.

The 21-year-old started his career has a right winger but eventually ended up being a striker due to his goalscoring qualities, and is blessed with both power and pace, and has the ability to shoot.

Stephen Odey will playing Champions league football next season having played in the Europa League with FC Zurich last season.
