Stoke City 2 Nottingham 0: Etebo scores 1st league goal to help Potters end six-game winless run

Super Eagles midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo was on target as helped Stoke City secure a comfortable 2-0 against Nottingham Forest in their championship clash at Bet 365 stadium on Saturday.

Since he joined the Potters, Oghenekaro Etebo had failed to find the back of the net in his last 24 league games but the Russia 2018 star put end to his goal drought and his clubs winless run.

Oghenekaro Etebo and Benik Afobe in the 15th and 75th minutes of the game.

Stoke City went ahead from a swift counter-attack when Joe Allen sent Tom Ince away down the right, and his pass inside allowed Peter Etebo to run on and smash a shot past Costel Pantilimon from the edge of the box.

Joao Carvalho then lost possession, allowing Ince to pick out the run of Benik Afobe as the visitors switched off, and Stoke’s leading scorer smashed in his ninth goal of the season.

Oghenekaro Etebo will be proud to have opened his goal scoring account for the Potters in a game they totally dominated their visitors.
