Stop the Pressure: Adepoju Backs Osimhen to Choose His Own Path

Former Super Eagles and Real Sociedad midfielder, Mutiu Adepoju, has shared his thoughts on the transfer drama surrounding Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen.

The 26-year-old forward has been expected to leave Napoli, but so far, only a loan move to Turkish club Galatasaray has happened.

Osimhen had an impressive season in Turkey, scoring 37 goals and giving eight assists. He helped Galatasaray win both the Turkish Super Lig and the League Cup.

Many people have been urging him to quickly decide on his future, with some even criticising his delay. But Adepoju has a different opinion — he believes people should leave Osimhen alone and allow him to make his own choice.

“Victor is a star, and everyone can see his talent,” said Adepoju. “There’s no team in the world he can’t play for. He’s proven himself again and again.

“I know people mean well, but sometimes the pressure is too much. Let him decide what’s best for his career. When the right offer comes, he will know it. Our job is to support him as a national hero.”

Osimhen has turned down two big-money offers from Saudi club Al-Hilal, showing he still wants to play at the highest level in Europe. Although Galatasaray won trophies last season, they may not be strong enough to compete in the Champions League — and that could influence his next move.

For now, Adepoju’s message is clear: let Osimhen decide for himself, and let’s give him our full support.
