Spurs preserve perfect home record, Suns end skid as Hornets falter again

The Phoenix Suns recorded an overdue win in the NBA on Wednesday, seeing off the slumping Charlotte Hornets 111-102.

Mirza Teletovic, Brandon Knight, Devin Booker and T.J. Warren starred as the Suns snapped a nine-game losing streak thanks to a season-high 19 three-pointers in Phoenix.

Teletovic made five shots from beyond the arc, Knight posted 18 points and seven assists, Booker contributed 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Warren added 17 points.

The Hornets, who crashed to a fifth consecutive defeat, were led by Kemba Walker’s 25 points.

In San Antonio, the Spurs maintained their 100 per cent record at home with a 123-98 win over the Utah Jazz.

Tim Duncan had a season-high 18 points, while seven of his team-mates were in double-figures as the Spurs improved to 21-0 on home court.

The Cleveland Cavaliers made it five successive wins via a 121-115 victory at the Washington Wizards.

Kyrie Irving showcased his All-Star credentials by scoring 21 of his 32 points in the fourth quarter, while team-mate LeBron James chipped in with 34 points of his own.

Wizards duo John Wall (20, 12 assists) and Garrett Temple (21) combined for 41 points.

Reggie Jackson’s 24 points helped the Detroit Pistons past the Boston Celtics 99-94, the Oklahoma City Thunder downed the Memphis Grizzlies 112-94 thanks to Kevin Durant and the Indiana Pacers beat the Orlando Magic 95-86.

The Brooklyn Nets fell to an eighth straight home defeat after losing 91-74 to the Toronto Raptors, a second-string Dallas Mavericks side accounted for the New Orleans Pelicans 100-91, the New York Knicks edged the Miami Heat 98-90, the Denver Nuggets trumped the Minnesota Timberwolves 78-74, while the Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 109-98.
