Sunshine Stars reacts to victory over Akwa United with improvement vow
Sunshine Stars head coach, Bobola Akinfolarin, has expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance following their hard-fought 1-0 victory over Akwa United in a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday 24 clash in Ikenne on Saturday.
Akinfolarin commended his players for their resilience and discipline, emphasising that they will not relent in their pursuit of consistency and improvement.
“We will continue to work on the lapses we identify after each match,” Akinfolarin stated. “Today, we kept a clean sheet and secured maximum points because we analysed our defensive weaknesses and made necessary adjustments. Our hard work paid off, and we won’t stop until we become even stronger.”
The victory marks an important step for the Akure-based side as they aim for a stronger finish in the NPFL campaign. Sunshine Stars will now shift focus to their next fixture, hoping to build on this momentum.
