Super Eagles Captain Wilfred Ndidi Mourns Father’s Death
Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi is mourning the loss of his father, Sunday Ndidi, who died on Tuesday following a road accident.
According to reports, the tragic incident happened in Umunede, Delta State. The late Sunday Ndidi, a retired military officer, was involved in a fatal crash and was rushed to a hospital in Agbor, also in Delta State. He was later confirmed dead by medical personnel.
The sad news was made public on Tuesday by Turkish club Besiktas, where Ndidi currently plays. The club described the incident as a devastating loss for the midfielder and his family.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), Besiktas wrote:
“We are deeply saddened to learn of the tragic passing of our footballer Wilfred Ndidi’s esteemed father, Sunday Ndidi, in a fatal traffic accident.
May Allah grant mercy to the deceased; we extend our condolences to our footballer Wilfred Ndidi, his family, and loved ones.”
