Super Eagles Coach Eric Chelle Praises Moses Simon’s Commitment

Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has praised Moses Simon for his strong dedication to the Nigerian national team.

The 29-year-old winger, who plays for FC Nantes, made his 81st appearance for Nigeria in a friendly match against Russia yesterday evening. So far, Simon has scored 10 goals and provided 15 assists for the Super Eagles.

Chelle described Simon as a player who always gives his best whenever he wears the green and white jersey.

“Can I add something? I’m so proud of Moses,” Chelle said in a chat with Flashscore.
“Whenever it’s an international break, he always calls me and says he wants to come. Sometimes I ask him to take a break, but he insists, ‘No, I want to play.’
This guy always wants to represent Nigeria. He always wants to help the team win.”

Simon was part of the squad that helped Nigeria lift the Unity Cup after a 1-1 draw with Jamaica at the Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford.

Moses Responds with Praise for Chelle

In return, Simon praised Coach Chelle, calling him a “man of war” because of the energy and fighting spirit he has brought to the Super Eagles.

“Other coaches brought hunger, but Coach Eric Chelle brought war into the team,” said Simon.
“Training feels like a battlefield, and on match days, the intensity starts from the first whistle. Even the substitutes know they are coming in to fight.
His motto is war – and maybe that’s what we were missing.”

What Next for Moses Simon?

While Simon continues to show strong passion for Nigeria, his club future is uncertain. His contract with FC Nantes will expire at the end of next season, and there is already interest from other clubs.

Whether he stays in France or moves elsewhere, one thing is clear – Moses Simon remains one of Nigeria’s most committed and experienced players.
