Super Eagles defender Jamiu Collins hails NFF President, Dayo, Peseiro, teammates following injury return
Super Eagles and Cardiff City defender Jamiu Collins has hailed NFF President , National team Head coach Jose Peseiro and teammates after his return from a 9-month long injury.
Collins suffered an ACL injury in August 2022. It looked so bad that then Cardiff City manager said he will miss the rest of the season.
The defender has returned earlier than planned and has kind words for people who showed him ” love ” during the torrid period.
“I have never suffered any injury since I started playing football professionally and to go through a whole nine months without football was a torrid period for me,” Collins told NFF.com following his return to training.
“The ACL injury experience was terrible and when treatment started it was like I got a new knee,”
“I want to appreciate the new NFF President, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau; the General Secretary, Dr. Sanusi; Coach Jose Peseiro, Super Eagles’ Team Administrator Dayo Enebi Achor and; my Super Eagles’ team mates for reaching out and showing me love during this period. It all mattered so much to me and I’m grateful,” he added.
Jamilu Collins 28, joined English Championship side Cardiff City in May 2022 from German club SC Paderbon. With three games to the end of the Championship season, relegation battling Cardiff City could opt to trust the 25-cap Nigerian International in any of the games vs Rotherham, Huddersfield and Burnley .
