Super Eagles defender Olisa Ndah will enter his second season with Orlando Pirates when the BUCS face Swallows on August 6 , 2022 . He will be doing this under a new coach Jose Riveiro who the defender shares an ” Okay” relationship.

The Spanish manager replaced the Co-coaching arrangement of Fadilu David’s and Mandla Ncikazi who is now Riveiro’s assistant ahead of the 2022/2023 season.

Nigerian defender Olisa Ndah bared his mind on his relationship with the new Pirates head coach plus pre season preparations in a telephone conversation with Comfort 95.1fm presenter Festus Dada from his base in South Africa.

His words ” We have a new coach , he is a good coach and has his own style of play so we are trying to adapt during this pre season. Our relationship (With the coach) is casual because we are both here to work for a goal so I think the relationship is okay .”

On his debut season with Orlando Pirates , the defender expressed satisfactory remarks for a season that saw the BUCS finish as runners up in the CAF Confederation Cup whilst missing out on a continental spot following a 6th place finish in the League.

Olisa said ” Last season was not really the best I hoped for, i thought i would be able to get a trophy in my first season but unfortunately i didn’t,”

” I had a decent season i guess . The season went well , when the fans came it was so wonderful and they were so supportive . I really enjoyed the fans returning to the stadium because it really pushes us a lot during the games home and away. ”

On pre season preparations under the tutorship of the new head coach Jose Riveiro the former Akwa United defender said ” We are gradually getting there (Fitness) ,”

” We’ve had a lot of training sessions , we’re learning new things everyday because it’s a new coach and he arrives with his style of play which we are trying to perfect in pre season.

” I wouldn’t say it’s been really easy . It’s been difficult and hectic but it’s all in our favour as we try to achieve something this season and get back to the continent. ” Olisa Ndah concluded.
