Super Eagles Depart Uyo For Guinea-Bissau Ahead Of AFCON Qualifier
The Super Eagles of Nigeria are expected to depart the Victor Attah International Airport at 3:00 p.m. today for Guinea-Bissau ahead of their second 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match against the Djurtus on Tuesday.
Nigeria will head into the game with confidence after securing a 2-1 victory over Madagascar last Friday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
The win gave the Super Eagles three points from their opening qualifying match and put the team in a positive position ahead of Tuesday’s away fixture.
Speaking in Uyo before the team’s departure, Acting Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Dr Emmanuel Ikpeme, said he was confident that Nigeria would build on the victory over Madagascar and fight for another three points in Guinea-Bissau.
Ikpeme stressed the need for the team to remain focused and determined as Nigeria continues its campaign to qualify for the 2027 AFCON.
The Super Eagles will be hoping for another strong performance on Tuesday and a positive result as the qualifying race continues.
