Super Eagles’ goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali cleared for upcoming friendly matches

According to the latest reports from South Africa, Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali will be available for the Super Eagles’ upcoming friendly games against Ghana and Mali.

Nwabali, who played a key role in the Super Eagles’ impressive performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, is set to continue his journey as the team’s new number-one goalkeeper despite concerns over his availability. He came off during Chippa United’s 2-0 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns in the 73rd minute with a suspected knee injury.

Nigeria will face Ghana’s Black Stars and Mali on March 22nd and 26th, respectively, in Marrakech, Morocco, and will be boosted by updates about Nwabali’s injury situation.

In a move that will calm frayed nerves, Nwabali took to his social media handle to express hope and confidence in his recovery via a caption: “Hope and confidence. It takes just one star to pierce a universe of darkness. We don’t give up here,” he wrote, displaying resilience amidst doubts about his fitness.

Sources suggest that the injury is not serious and that the Chippa United goalkeeper is likely to recover in time to join the Super Eagles’ squad.

Nwabali’s inclusion in the 26-man squad list for the friendly matches underscores his growing importance as Nigeria’s first-choice goalkeeper.”
