Sportswear giant Nike has unveiled the official kits for the Super Eagles ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.
The home jersey boasts Nigeria’s signature green and white colors, while the away jersey features a white background with a touch of green.
The Super Eagles, led by coach Jose Peseiro, are aiming to secure their fourth AFCON title in the upcoming tournament and will turnout in kits inspired by the designs from the 90’s.
Drawn in Group A, Super Eagles will face hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau.
Nigeria’s campaign at the tournament kicks off on January 14, 2023 with Nigeria playing their first match against Equatorial Guinea at the Alssanne Quattara Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan.
The Super Eagles will then take on Cote d’Ivoire on January 18, in a rematch of the 2013 quarter-final, where Nigeria emerged victorious.
They will wrap up the group stage with a match against Guinea-Bissau on January 22.
The unveiling of the new kits adds to the excitement as the Super Eagles prepare to compete for continental glory.
Up next, Nigerians wait the revelation of Jose Peseiro’s final squad for the 2023 AFCON, with the form of Nigerian players at home and in diaspora a cause for heated competition.
