Ahead of the upcoming 34th African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast, the head coach of the Super Eagles, Jose Peseiro, along with his coaching assistants, have landed in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The Portuguese coach, accompanied by his coaching team, arrived in UAE on Tuesday afternoon, laying the groundwork for the upcoming training camp.

The coaching staff’s presence in Abu Dhabi signals the beginning of Nigeria’s preparations for the AFCON tournament which gets underway on January 13, 2024.

Coach Peseiro had previously announced a provisional list of 41 players, later narrowing it down to the final squad of 25 players last week.

The invited players are expected to start arriving on Tuesday evening, with training set to commence on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.

As part of their preparations, the Super Eagles will participate in a mini-tournament in Abu Dhabi before heading to Ivory Coast for the AFCON competition.
