Super Eagles Squad Named for Unity Cup and Russia Friendly – Osimhen Rested
Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has announced the players invited for Nigeria’s upcoming matches – the Unity Cup Tournament in London and an international friendly against Russia in Moscow.
Star striker Victor Osimhen, who plays for Galatasaray, has been given time to rest and will not take part in either game.
Unity Cup Squad – 25 Players Called Up
Nigeria will compete in the Unity Cup with Jamaica, Ghana, and Trinidad & Tobago at the Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford, West London. The tournament kicks off on Tuesday, 27 May.
Chelle has called up experienced players like Ahmed Musa, Wilfred Ndidi, Moses Simon, Kelechi Iheanacho, and goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali. He also invited several home-based players from the Nigeria Premier Football League.
The Unity Cup will be a chance to test new players before more competitive matches later in the year, according to Chelle.

Russia Friendly – 21 Players Named
Nigeria will play Russia in an international friendly at the Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow on Friday, 6 June. Several players from the Unity Cup squad are retained, with others added for more experience.
New faces include captain William Troost-Ekong, defender Bright Osayi-Samuel, and striker Victor Boniface.
